Required Education and Experience:

Appropriate doctoral degree plus six years of relevant professional experience. Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others. Ability to perform all tasks and job responsibilities safely without injury to self and others in compliance with A&M System and TAMHSC guidelines.

Preferred Education and Experience:

Terminal Degree in the Life/Biomedical Sciences or appropriate field. At least 3 years of post-doctoral experience. Strong background and demonstrated expertise in design, conduct and interpretation of complex experiments. Ability to independently design and conduct experiments and to develop and manage multifaceted research projects. Excellent familiarity with relevant literature. Ability to oversee day to day running of the laboratory.Ph.D. in molecular or cellular biology, biochemistry, biophysics, bioengineering or closely related discipline. Several first authored publications in high quality journals. Experience in training lab personnel. Research in the area of protein engineering and/or microscopy/cell biology

Job Detail:

Oversee day to day running of an internationally competitive research laboratory. Train and mentor students and trainees and supervise research assistants. Write, submit and revise (as needed) research manuscripts. Make strong and timely contributions to grant applications. Other duties as assigned.

Work Hours:

8-5 with adjustments dependent on research.
