Required Education and Experience:

High School diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Two years of related experience in a general office setting required. Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications. Knowledge of standard office protocol and the use of standard office equipment. Knowledge of multi line phone system. Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others. Ability to perform all tasks and job responsibilities safely without injury to self and others in compliance with A&M System and HSC guidelines. Provide a safe environment that fosters respect, inclusion and equality of all faculty, staff, students and visitors.

Preferred Education and Experience:

Two years dental office experience to include patient scheduling; demonstrate adequate work history. Axium or other dental software experience; general knowledge of dental language. Ability to understand and speak Spanish. Requires the ability to communicate effectively using proper grammar and deal with a diverse population to include customers, patients, faculty, co-workers and outside contacts. Proficient computer and typing skills. Requires the ability to concentrate and remain focused in a high traffic and noise area. Requires the ability to pay attention to details and handle multiple tasks. Solid knowledge of grammar, punctuation and spelling.

Job Detail:

Schedule patient appointments for students by phone or in person (i.e. recall, follow-up, regular and rescheduled appointments).
Maintain patient records, statistics and HIPAA in accordance with established procedures. Documents in the electronic health record all no shows, cancellations, and the need for postcards, warning and closeout letters. Discuss treatment and cost with patients to verify they are ready to start treatment. Provides verification of dailey patient appointments and student attendance; track student clinic hours; coordinate chair assignments; enter class schedules, rotation schedules on an as needed basis, block clinic chairs accordingly.
Confirms patient appointments if not confirmed by Easymarket system. Schedules student’s monthly conferences with their group leader. Order supplies and print shop needs. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Work Hours:

8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday – Friday
